Studies on Carrying: We hold the line, 2026

Live Performance, 70 minutes

How do bodies carry one another under contemporary conditions of fatigue, migration, precarity, disability and social fragmentation? The study explores how bodies share burden, redistribute exhaustion, and create temporary structures of mutual support that allow them to continue resisting the forces that wear them down.

“We hold the line” looks at the labor that sustains life. It looks at the complex negotiations through which labor is shared between those who carry and those who are being carried. It challenges the cultural fantasy of autonomy by looking at how dependency itself involves forms of expertise, communication, relational and emotional work.

The study is conducted in collaboration with the dance department students at the Korea National University of Arts.
