Massage Shop Codes: Mugwort Rocking, 2026
Video, 10 minutes, 4K single-channel video
Massage Shop Codes is a multimedia project that archives the movements of female massage workers as intergenerational knowledge, carrying histories of healing, care, intimacy, and women's labor.
In its third study, titled Mugwort Rocking, six different rocking massage techniques are translated into notation drawings and interpreted kinetically by two contemporary dance performers and vocally by an experimental pansori singer.
